Community Outreach Program for the Deaf - New New Mexico was established in 1994, with a federal establishment grant from our Arizona sister agency. After 29 years, COPD has stopped providing services- except for Interpreting. We did lots! We had three amazing Directors: Lin Marksbury, Edina Jabor, Larry Rhodes. We provided support statewide across New Mexico. We served thousands of Deaf and DeafBlind persons through the years. We had support from many state and federal partners, as well as various grants.

Thanks to all who have played a part in and have been supportive of COPD’s service in New Mexico. (Interpreting services continue on)!

While we have temporarily routed the management and scheduling to Arizona staff, we are happy to announce Autumn Rosetta of Albuquerque is now a part of our scheduling team!

Laura Ellington-Pierre oversees all interpreting operations, and she can be reached at lauraep@vcdaz.org, or you can call the COPD main phone number (505) 255-7636 and ask for her at ext 7355.
